Founded by celebrity trainer Elissa El Hadj, FORM opened the doors to its first London studio in Notting Hill in February 2015. FORM’s original and exclusive workout concept takes reformer pilates to the next level in a dynamic 50-minute workout. At the heart of the METcore workout, the MOTR - an innovative and versatile piece of fitness equipment, proven to challenge the core muscles more intensely than any other form of pilates.
A fusion of Barre and Pilates - this is a low impact, high intensity class performed on the MOTR - an innovative and versatile piece of fitness equipment, proven to challenge the core muscles more intensely than any other form of pilates, with special focus on slow controlled movements aimed at strengthening, toning, lengthening and sculpting the physique.
WHAT IS METCORE?
Certainly not your average pilates class. This is a highly effective, intelligent workout comprising of all the critical elements of the most effective workouts- pilates and metabolic conditioning (our SPEED 8 cardio blast - more on that below) combined into one 50-minute head to toe workout.
The METcore class is an all encompassing, versatile, workout that improves core strength, stamina, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular fitness simultaneously. The unpredictable nature of the regime keeps each class challenging, fresh and effective for both body and mind. Variety is the spice of life and keeping your body guessing is the key to it changing.
THE METCORE WORKOUT – a 50-minute workout combination of -
Performed on the MOTR, challenges the core muscles more intensely than any other pilates practice and develops the body uniformly. It improves flexibility, builds strength, develops control and endurance, improves coordination and balance. Emphasis is on alignment, breathing and developing a strong Powerhouse (core).
SPEED 8 -
High Intensity Resistance Training (HIRT) lasting ONLY 8 MINUTES! Those precious 8 minutes incorporates 40 seconds of maximum intensity exercise, followed by 20 seconds of rest, repeated non-stop 8 times. This form of exercise is scientifically proven to boost aerobic and anaerobic capacity, more than an hour of steady cardio.
Our innovative SPEED 8 section comprises of 40 second bursts of intense, fat burning, cardio conditioning utilising the SkiErg (Nordic skiing simulator), TRX (suspension training), and Kettlebells (functional training)
On top of the amazing, fat burning cardio boost, your body will receive an all-natural, anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing chemical release! A powerful cocktail of all natural hormones that rebuild and repair your body and brain.
