Day 1

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 3
Quality of sleep: 2
Digestion: 2
Mood: 3
Skin clarity: 4

Food notes
The beetroot hummus is something I never buy (or make, despite the fact that I adore hummus and probably spend fortunes on it) but I absolutely adored it. I ran out of radishes far too quickly and ended up using the rest of the hummus in my lunch! Nothing - I mean nothing - this week will touch the cacao slice though. UNBELIEVABLE.

General notes
I'm back from Mallorca with a sun-blessed glow to my skin and the main thing I have to look forward to this week is not a return to work but the start of my Detox Kitchen plan. It won't be easy - I've been drinking wine in the beautiful Spanish evenings, sipping coffee with my breakfast and indulging in every sweet thing I can get my hands on.

I didn't sleep well so I felt desperately tired trudging into work and avoiding my morning matcha latte was HARD.

Day 2

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 3
Quality of sleep: 3
Digestion: 3
Mood: 4
Skin clarity: 4

Food notes
Loved my savoury breakfast this morning, I think it keeps me fuller for longer and doesn't give my sugar habit a kick. I also love dukkah and didn’t even know it!

I normally have a piece of fruit every day in the afternoon (often an apple or orange) and I'm replacing it with my juice. It's perfect because I'm actually getting a wider range of vitamins and nutrients by varying my fruit and vegetables more.

General notes
I'm still finding it hard to get up in the mornings - settling back into the work schedule is hard! Luckily my skin looks good; I feel like eating good, fresh food is helping to keep it congestion-free after my holiday.

Day 3

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 3
Quality of sleep: 4
Digestion: 4
Mood: 3
Skin clarity: 4

Food notes
Dinner was incredible!

Day 4

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 4
Quality of sleep: 4
Digestion: 3
Mood: 4
Skin clarity: 4

Food notes
I make bircher mueslis every day normally, so I loved the treat of one today. It filled me up and with the Pretty Powerful morning juice I felt much more energised and refreshed.

General notes
Treated myself to the Psycle Yoga class this morning and I haven’t done yoga in months. It was hard!! Amazing though - one of those classes where you have so much space in a beautiful, tranquil room rather than packed together like sardines. It was dynamic, so we were always moving (well, I tried!) and it really gets your heart rate up, which I didn't expect. I'm already recommending it to friends.

Starting to realise how much time I normally spend in the evenings cooking dinner and prepping food for the next day. Really appreciating the treat of just having more time to myself. Still having to resist those daily cravings of my sugary snacks after dinner and a piece of fruit with yogurt though!

Day 5

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 4
Quality of sleep: 4
Digestion: 4
Mood: 5
Skin clarity: 4

Food notes
The cacao mousse was divine. Really look forward to my desserts at the end of the day and today did not disappoint. The squash pilaf was delicious too; one thing that the Detox Kitchen do really well is their accompaniments / dressings / sauces.

General notes
Food is just flying through me - maybe I didn't quite realise how much processed / stodgy food I was eating that was slowing down my digestion. It feels like my body is going at super speed to get back to a healthy gut.

Feeling ready for the weekend; it's been a long first week back at work and tonight I'm looking forward to curling up with my Detox dinner and a movie night. Really noticing my mood improvement now that I've had four days on the summer set package. I feel so much calmer and generally happy rather than stressed or irritable. I'm sure my husband is going to hope this continues!

Day 6

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 4
Quality of sleep: 4
Digestion: 4
Mood: 5
Skin clarity: 5

Food notes
It’s a hard choice for my favourite today between the white bean mash and the Mushroom Donburi. I love mushrooms, and I was surprised that such a healthy lunch filled me up so much - I was actually getting to the end and wondering if I needed it all. I'm definitely appreciating what my 'full' point is better now rather than just eating a whole plate of food without thinking.

General notes
Feeling much more energised for Monday today compared to last week. I had a sore back last night so I didn't sleep as well as I had hoped but when I am asleep, I am sleeping much more deeply than usual. I'm not tossing and turning during the night and my dreams are really vivid, hopefully I will dream up an amazing new business idea! The dark circles around my eyes are looking a little better too; maybe it's a result of better circulation or just better sleep quality. Thank god, because they are my major weakness when it comes to feeling self-conscious without makeup.

Day 7

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 4
Quality of sleep: 5
Digestion: 5
Mood: 5
Skin clarity: 5

Food notes
The little pot of tamari seeds are the perfect size for taking to meetings so I have something to keep me going in the afternoon.

General notes
I'm becoming quite addicted to my morning shot and wondering if I could easily replicate it so I could continue the trend after my detox has finished! My digestion is finally GREAT. It's also fantastic having no bloating whatsoever, have only just realised that I haven't suffered from bloating since I started really. My digestion is almost never a 5/5 and I'm starting to really appreciate how it feels to have a happy, healthy gut. It really impacts your mood and general energy levels... people do talk about your gut having a brain! I feel sharper at work than I normally do and I'm finding it so much easier to make it to the end of the day without noticing the time at all.

Day 8

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 4
Quality of sleep: 5
Digestion: 4
Mood: 5
Skin clarity: 4

Food notes
It's mousse day again :) I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the Thai red curry with courgette and peppers. Even though I didn't have my normal rice and poppadoms, it was really well flavoured and filling. I would normally associate having curry with feeling bloated and full on a Sunday evening - it always gives me a terrible digestion. It was really refreshing to have a curry that is healthy and tastes great at the same time!

General notes
Again, very deep sleep and dreams - my alarm woke me up this morning rather than tossing and turning in the early hours. Feeling happy because I headed to Sweaty Betty this afternoon and chose some new workout clothes. I absolutely adore that shop; this package feels like amazing value considering you get £50 included?!

Day 9

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 5
Quality of sleep: 5
Digestion: 5
Mood: 5
Skin clarity: 5

Food notes
Sweetcorn and sweet potato combination was delicious (again, something I'll be copying), and a really filling on-the-go lunch.

General notes
Being on the summer set package has really helped me reflect on portion sizes - I've realised my ration of savoury to sweet (main meal vs dessert) is out of balance. I'd love to buy pots of a similar size so I can focus on a nourishing main meal rather than stuffing myself with sugary treats that keep me up at night. It might be why my energy levels are starting to feel much less volatile; I don't go up and down during the day depending on how long after sugar it's been. Now (hopefully) I'm nice all day long!!

Day 10

Rating on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the lowest:
Energy levels: 5
Quality of sleep: 4
Digestion: 5
Mood: 5
Skin clarity: 5

Food notes
Don't even want my old comfort habits this weekend now my detox is coming to an end - my biscuit jar looks decidedly unappealing and my normal snacks of crackers / crisps just feel dry and dull.

General notes
I booked myself into the Psycle class to kickstart my day, and despite being a little sleep-deprived from my husband's snoring, I didn't even need my alarm to get out of bed this morning. Thank god I made it to the class... because it was definitely worth it. Wow they know how to motivate you! I'm not a great cyclist, but I was bopping up and down on that saddle and I walked out feeling like I was ready to take on the world. SUPERWOMAN. Really wasn't expecting the results to be so impressive after only ten days. My skin looks and feels great; it's not dry, congested and dull but feels hydrated, nourished and glowy instead. Hoping I can keep up feeling like this (or, if all else fails, head back to The Detox Kitchen for more).
