Female Faces of the Brand: Madeleine Shaw

Allow us to introduce Madeleine, nutritionist, chef, yoga teacher and one of our amazing collaborators... This International Women's Day, we are celebrating all the wonderful women we work with; we are taking this opportunity to introduce you to some of the fabulous female faces behind the brand. This week, we are also launching a special IWD recipe booklet, featuring a collection of delicious recipes from top female chefs and will be donating to Women for Women International. What inspires you?

Feeling good. I feel like I am always wanting to feel good, so I like to look after my body with good food and daily movement. I also love to grow as a person, so I am always learning. I am constantly inspired by my mum, her work ethic is amazing.

What does your day usually look like?

I wake up at 7am before the rest of my family. I like to do some Pilates then meditate. I usually jump in the shower after and everyone else wakes up. I make breakfast, which is usually protein packed like eggs and rye bread, a smoothie with protein powder or smoked salmon omelette. Then I do the drop off, and head back home to work. I try to have 2 creative days of filming and creating, and two days of sitting at my computer, editing, doing emails, planning etc. Some weeks I take Friday off, or it's filled with meetings or events. I like to switch off work after the school pick up, cook supper and get an early night!

What is your daily non-negotiable?

2 litres of water, 10k steps and an early night.

3 wellness tips/habits you swear by...

  1. Meditation, I think we all need something to manage stress.
  2. Pilates, it's been the best movement to tone my body and make me feel strong!
  3. Meal Prep, I love prepping a few bits on a Sunday to have for the week ahead. I share all my meal prep recipes on The Glow Space.

What is your favourite cuisine?

Middle Eastern probably, but I love all cuisines.

Your favourite DK meal?

I love their quinoa and falafel grain bowl with hummus!

Dish or recipe you make most often?

Recently its greek meatballs with zatar veggies and tahini dressing.

Death row dinner?

Slow roast lamb with harissa aubergine and a rocket salad, with lemon tart for pudding.

What is your favourite form of movement?

I love Pilates. I also love to hike and swim in the ocean.

What is your favourite quote or mantra?

There is only one you, and you will bring something different to the world no one else can.
