Our friends at Pai Skincare have shared their four pointers for keeping your skin healthy and happy, this season.

First up, hydration

When the weather is hot, we’re so much better at drinking plenty of water and moisturising regularly. But often these good habits fall to the wayside once the mercury drops. Dry, itchy skin is calling out for moisture, so firstly make sure to drink plenty of water, even if you’re not hot! Next up, skincare. Hydrating serums are genius because the molecules inside are so tiny, they can deliver water deeper into the skin.

Our Back To Life Hydration Serum uses all-natural Hyaluronic Acid which cleverly holds 1000 x its weight in water, getting moisture right in there. For everyday nourishment, find a moisturiser free from irritants and preservatives. Our Day Creams are targeted to every skin concern. For redness-prone skin we recommend our bestselling Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream, our Geranium & Thistle Rebalancing Day Cream is formulated specifically for blemish-prone, oily and combination skin while dry and dehydrated skin loves our Avocado & Jojoba Hydrating Day Cream.

Lock it down

There’s a lot of confusion over the role of oils in skincare. An oil can’t actually hydrate the skin as it contains no water, so shouldn’t be used as a replacement for moisturiser. What they can do which our Rosehip Bioregenerate Oil does amazingly well, is feed the skin with nourishment from all the Omegas 3, 6, 7 & 9, and antioxidant carotenoids inside. Another great benefit of oils is that they have the ability to lock in any moisture you’ve already got in your skin. Which is particularly helpful this time of year when the central heating begins to get cranked up. So think of them as a nutrient-rich top coat – and make sure you apply them as the final step in your skincare routine, after your moisturiser.

Swerve hot soaks

Nothing beats a really long, really hot bath right? Actually if your skin is feeling irritated, that’s the worst thing you could do right now. When skin is exposed to hot water, its natural lipids begin to break down. And as we’ve already mentioned, it is lipids – or oils – that help the skin hold in its precious moisture. Shorter baths and showers with warm – never hot – water will be your friends this autumn. If skin still feels dry and itchy after bathing, replenish all that hydration with a rich body cream. We happen to think our Comfrey & Calendula Calming Body Cream is the best there is!

Talk it out

If you’ve tried everything else, and your skin is still fully freaking out, there might be something else going on that needs your attention. We offer a free phone consultation service – to help you get to the bottom of what’s going on with your skin. We’ll discuss your daily routine, diet, sleep patterns, gut health, you name it, because we know skincare is just one piece of the puzzle. Don’t worry – there’s no hidden costs and there’s absolutely no pressure to buy any products afterwards. Book your free consultation on paiskincare.com now to start your journey to happy, calm skin.

You Look Radishing

With the deadline for book number two (!) fast approaching, I’m taking advantage of some of the delights available to us in the British springtime and will be flexing my chef skills in the kitchen this weekend. There are so many wonderful, locally grown vegetables available to us at the moment.

Now stocking: Dash Water

Food waste is a subject we care passionately about as a business, so we are thrilled to now be stocking Dash water. “British sparkling water infused with wonky fruit and veg” is the strapline. Crafted in the UK by Alex and Jack, we love that they are fighting food waste in a fun, and sustainable way. The lemon flavour is definitely my favourite.

Becoming a Vegetarian

I watched Carnage. The person that told me to watch it said, be prepared, if you watch it you WILL turn veggie. I watched it. I am now a vegetarian. I have been for two months and I can’t see it changing. My older brother and mum watched it too, they are both now vegetarians. Needless to say, the humorous documentary by Simon Amstell resonated with me, and many others it would seem.

We take away the stress of planning, shopping and cooking healthy meals.

Simply select the package that is right for you, choose your start date and duration, and look forward to your first delivery of wholesome food.
