Female Faces of the Brand: Rose Ferguson

Allow us to introduce Rose, nutritionist and one of our amazing collaborators. Together we created the Complete Cleanse! This International Women's Day, we are celebrating all the wonderful women we work with; we are taking this opportunity to introduce you to some of the fabulous female faces behind the brand. This week, we are also launching a special IWD recipe booklet, featuring a collection of delicious recipes from top female chefs and will be donating to Women for Women International. What inspires you?

There are so many brilliant women who work in my field and all have the same goal, making health available to all - Eve Kalinik, DK’s Lily, IFMCP Kate Garden, Artah’s Rhian Stevenson. I am lucky enough to get to spend time periodically with Deepak Chopra whose wisdom is astonishing. I am inspired by the big guns of the functional medicine world, such as Jeff Bland, Bob Rountree, Shilpa Saxena and Mark Hyman. My kids inspire me, as does my husband and they are my pillars of endless support and wonder.

What does your day usually look like?

I am an early bird usually - I love my morning and I love my routine. I do my MJMB - meditate journal move breathe - all or whatever I can - I am into an early class at the moment whether at home or the gym. My work day is very variable, I am working on my community space ‘R Healthclub’ which is slowly coming along. Work in general is crazy at the moment, I love it but it is full on. I try to get out for a walk here and there to keep the body moving a bit. When I get back from work or if I am working from home I make dinner - I love doing that, it’s my wind-down, OR I go to the local pub which does brilliant food and nice cocktails!

What is your daily non-negotiable?

Green tea! I drink loads of it and as I said my morning routine!

3 wellness tips/habits you swear by...

  1. Fasting for 12 hours each day
  2. The odd 24-hour hard green juice day
  3. Moving throughout the day

What is your favourite cuisine?

I love curry, all sorts of them.

Your favourite DK meal?

I live in the countryside - so the fridge fills are amazing - I love the roasted cauliflower and spiced lentils with chicken and salsa verde.

Dish or recipe you make most often?

Thai green curry with chicken thighs for some and tempeh for others, with some lentil rice.

Death row dinner?

Ohhhhh - I would have to go basic - boiled eggs with marmite on toast.

What is your favourite form of movement?

It changes, I go through phases and know that is how I work best and now embrace the change when it comes, I used to force myself to carry on something long after I was enjoying it. Running was a love for a long time and while I still do a little I am not so enthusiastic about it at the moment - Instead, I am enjoying more weights, pilates and a good walk in the wet weather - urgh.

What is your favourite quote or mantra?

'And breathe'…… this is my mantra - I seem to say it a lot at the moment
