Hi! I’m Tamara, a movement teacher and wellness expert from London. I am passionate about the mind-body connection and helping people to feel their best physically, mentally and beyond through movement and good lifestyle choices. We all deserve to thrive and live a life that we dream of.

My aim is to spark joy, presence and connection through movement and empower people to effect positive changes to live their most meaningful lives. I am an ambassador and lover of Detox Kitchen. It is amazing how it simplifies eating healthy and supports my lifestyle. If you want to perform at a high level in life you must consume high quality nutrients. This does not have to be boring, deriving pleasure from food is one of life’s joys.

What inspires you?

Our potential and our power to shape our reality, and how our thoughts, actions and habits create everything.

What does your day usually look like?

Up very early! I have always been a morning person and love the energy of time of day. I drink lemon water/electrolyte salts to hydrate, drink a coffee then off to morning clients. Despite being optimal for our stress hormones to drink coffee post 10am post food, I believe in a pick your battles approach to health! Seeing my clients dedication to show up and go hard at 6am motivates through any early start. After morning lessons I enjoy a DK breakfast and train myself, I try to sauna and do something self-care related like sauna, Gua Sha or dry brushing after the gym. I always take time to apply a lovely cream or oil to my body, nurturing and caring for yourself on every level really helps to set the tone and create ripple effects for other positive habits. I then sit down with my laptop to plan retreats, partnerships and set future goals. I believe in dreaming big! If you have a vision in mind, take daily positive action towards it however big or small that may be. I definitely have a sweet tooth and enjoy a DK energy ball or healthy treat with a green tea in the afternoon before getting my steps in, in one of London’s many lovely parks. I feel fortunate to live in a city with abundant green spaces and cultivate a connection with nature daily. I call and friend to catch up, enjoy a healthy dinnner and herbal tea. I try to wind down early by, lighting candles, reading a book and meditating and journalling. Cities are highly stimulating so I try to be mindful of media consumption in and keeping things relaxing to enter into a parasympathetic nervous system. Sleep early, ready to do it all again! No path in life is easy, but follow your passions so you can go to sleep looking forward to doing it all again!

What is your daily non-negotiable?

Movement. Our bodies are designed to move and movement can shift any stuck mindset or emotional state. When we move freely in the body we find freedom in the mind.

3 wellness tips/habits you swear by...

  1. 10,000 steps a day
  2. Whole Foods - focus on food quality not volume. What we eat becomes us on a cellular level, we want it to be good!
  3. Hydrate - add electrolytes or lemon.

Simplicity is key and health doesn’t have to be anything fancy.

What is your favourite cuisine?

Japanese, Greek or Italian - I value simplicity and fresh, quality ingredients. Fresh fish is a favourite and best enjoyed in good company. I love the Mediterranean approach to eating mindfully, honoring meal times and enjoying with friends and family

Your favourite DK meal?

I love turkey bolognese, the high protein content makes it so satiating and it’s super tasty! Every noodle dish as well as they are veggie packed and a flavour and test sensation, they take me back to good memories of Asian travels!

Dish or recipe you make most often?

Eggs! I’ll be honest and say I’m not a lover of cooking. To be honest why cook when Detox Kitchen can do it better! If a rare flash of culinary inspiration strikes I would make salmon or steak with green and sweet potato.

Death row dinner?

Spaghetti Vongole at the Italian seaside. Classic Tiramisu of course! Accompanied a perfect espresso.

What is your favourite form of movement?

Yoga - for me the body awareness, strength and flexibility a regular yoga practice gives is unparalleled. It is perfect for harmonising body and mind and bringing everything into a beautiful and natural equilibrium with low stress on the body.

What is your favourite quote or mantra?

The way you do anything is the way you do everything. It is important that we are intentional with all that we do. Small things become the big things and this quote challenges me to really show up in the moment and make everything count. Nothing is perfect but we can always aim to do our best and seek excellence.
